OR Tambo lounge

Security-aware mist walk in a lounge bay.

See related venues and activations that suit airport hospitality, travel retail, and passenger waiting areas. This OR Tambo lounge page sits best alongside builds where queue movement, baggage, and security checks shape the layout.

Inside the lounge bay

The OR Tambo installation centred on a mist walk set inside a lounge bay, with sightlines kept open for staff and passengers. Materials had to cope with trolley traffic, carry-on bags, and frequent wipe-downs, so finishes, cabling, and fixings were chosen for controlled indoor use rather than festival wear. Security review mattered as much as brand presentation because any element near an airport waiting zone must read clearly from entry to exit.

For a similar airport-facing brief, send the build name through our contact form and reference the lounge bay setup. It helps to note whether your site has airside restrictions, retail neighbours, or a passenger dwell-time window that affects staffing and circulation.

Next revision at departures

We would tighten the service zone around the mist feature so refill access does not interrupt passenger flow. Sign-off documents should also call out power points, drainage handling, and overnight shutdown procedure earlier, especially where lounge operations and cleaning teams share the space. Wayfinding from the brand frontage into the bay could be bolder without adding visual noise.

Passenger route through the install

This build worked best when the journey started with brand recognition at the lounge edge, then moved into the mist moment, then into a short dwell area. Staff positions, bag placement, and queue breaks were set around that order so the experience stayed legible in a busy terminal setting. The sequence was shaped by airport behaviour, not by a generic event pattern.

Pair this with the relevant venue note and a dispatch note for access conditions. That gives producers enough context to discuss lounge operations, power, moisture controls, and installation timing around active passenger use. It does not replace an airport site check with the operator and security team.

Next revision at departures

On a future pass, we would lock the maintenance routine sooner and assign one named party to water checks, surface wipes, and start-up testing. If you need the fuller mark-up for another city or terminal, request it through our contact form and mention this OR Tambo lounge build by name.
